Another precaution that you want to keep in mind prior to visiting this wonderful country is the health effects of a third world. The two biggest worries according to the U.S state department website on travel warning to Egypt is Dung Fever and Malaria. Egypt does have a reasonably good health care system but they are usually located in the bigger cities like Cairo. So as you travel farther the health coverage is not so good. But, use common sense and make sure you drink proper water and cover up with the proper SPF Sunblock. Keeping those tips in mind you should have no additional problems on your trip.
Most of Egypt is relatively in expensive in the way of food, transportation, and accommodations. Obviously bring enough for you to take each day of your trip in stride and always have a backup plan in case something happens and you need to access your emergency money.
