South America Travel: Across Chile and Argentina

Updated on April 4, 2012

There are many exciting countries in South America, but my two favorite ones have to be Argentina and Chile. These two countries are a must see for any South American expedition. They offer many different types of sightseeing, culture, and people that no other county in South America can provide.

Santiago, Chile: Are the capital of Chile this modern day city with a touch of old world elegance is located in the heart of the country. In fact, it is almost geographically centered in the middle of the country. IT provides easy access to its bustling museums, historical center, and its lively modern day clubs in the city. If, you are searching to get out of the city no matter which way you decide to go you will be able to explore some of the most exotic parts of Chile. To the east you have the Andes Mountains the highest peaks in South America. On the west side are the glistening beaches that are there to entice you to relax in the sun and take a ride on the Pacific Ocean waves. With so much to do in and out of this wondrous city, you will have to put this city on your list to experience.

Mendoza, Argentina: If, you are searching for a more relaxing town than a large city then consider Mendoza Argentina on one of your stops. This quaint little town is one of the high points of the trip through Argentina and Chile. This town offers quite a few delights like Aconcagua which is the second tallest mountain in the world. The town sits on hundreds of acres of red vineyards, Because they are famous for making some of the most exotic wine anywhere in the world. So make Mendoza one of your stops on your tours of South America.

Córdoba, Argentina: Are another wondrous city close by Mendoza that you should stop and experience. The government of Argentina has made this historic city one of the best cultural spots in all of South America. It has countless national parks with Inca temples, and artifacts to explore. It is home to some of the most treasured museums in the southern hemisphere. Along with its annual cultural events that take place all ear around. No, other place in Argentina offers such a personal look at the lives, culture, and history of its people thin in the city of Cordoba.

Rosario, Argentina: Rosario Argentina is a newer city in the foot hills of the Andes. This is a magnificent city for those that love to experience the thrill of outdoor activities at a reasonable cost. They have all the comfort and amenities you will find in every other city just a little cheaper. Many come here to experience the thrill of bungee jumping off the grand waterfall, skydive out of a plane, trek ancient roads, and sail along the bay near sunset. This is truly an outdoors city because of all the natural surrounding beauty it provides.

Buenos Aires, Argentina: The most popular city in Argentina is the capital of Buenos Aires. This city has long been known as the “Paris of the South”. The city is known first for its historical architecture on many buildings there is old world charm that meets the modern day world. You can take a walk along the waterways, dance the night away, sing with the bands, drink with friends and celebrate the life of this wondrous city. This city pulsates with everything Argentina and it can be quite tantalizing and overwhelming to all your senses. So, maybe your last or first stop on your tour it is one city that you will come back to again and again.
