South Korea is another wonderful place to visit if you get the chance. There are thousands of tourist that fly here every year to see some of the historical, cultural and natural aspects of this diverse and wonderful country. Here, are the 10 must see places that should be seen if you ever get a chance to get to South Korea.

1. Nanta Theater

Nanta Theatre, Seoul is one of the famous theatres in the city. The theater became reality in 1997, it has been drawing tourist from all over the world since. The theater has made a conceptual presence in the field of Korean performing arts. The theaters name refers to the non-verbal form of acting that uses kitchen utensils. The main production in this theater uses four chefs drumming, juggling, and fighting their way to make a grand banquet. This high energy percussion performance is amazing to see and is a must for any visitor to Seoul.

2. Myeongdong: Hyper Shopping

This is situated in the historic area of soul that contains some of the best street markets as well as a grand look at the history in Seoul. As you walk down the main streets, you can almost feel the energy of the past as you interlope between historic cathedrals, buildings and monuments of the great leaders of the past. This is also a wonderful place to pick up authentic handmade crafts from local vendors.

3. Gyeongbokgung Palace

This is a wonderful ancient palace from the ancient kingdom. It is roughly 300 years old built by the empire of the chosen dynasty. It also contains the national museum of Korea, and the national folk museum on site. If, you are interested in ancient Asian history, a stop here will propel you back in time when dynasty’s and corruption still ruled the land.

4. Changdeokgung Palace

This Palace was built around the turn of the 15h century. It has some unique aspects about it. The builder of this palace was considered one with the earth and his ideals and life blood went into making a palace that was designed with the earth in mind. When you come up to it at first, is very hard to see it blends in so perfectly with its natural surroundings. It contains some of the most beautiful botanical gardens in all of Seoul. This is a must stop for any visitor to Seoul.

5. Leeum Samsung Museum of Art

One of the best places to learn about current and past culture of Seoul is in the one of a kind Leeum Samsung Museum of Art. It contains the finest art by some of Seoul’s finest artist through the centuries. The museum does also have a collection of some of the most wonderful western art. So if, you are in the mood for some abstract expressionism this is a place that will surely satisfy you.

6. N Seoul Tower

This is a great land mark in the center of the city. The view from this observation deck is absolutely breath taking. The tower was built on a 262 meter peak in Namsan Park. The tower is roughly 500 meters above sea level. This is a must stop for those that want a breathtaking view of Seoul and the surrounding countryside.

7. Chongmyo

This is one of Koreas most historical and precious cultural monuments. It is so cherished in Korea now that in the early 1990s UNESCO officially made Chongmyo, be put on the world Heritage List. You will know you just went through a time warp once you stand before the door of this monument. It will transport you back in time to the chosen kings as they worshipped their ancestors. This is a must stop on your list when visiting.

8. Korean Folk Village

This village stands on the banks of a small, quiet river it is a place that gives visitors a chance to see what local life is truly like. Locals will continue on their daily routines, and you can experience some of the most traditional cooking, gardening, and local traditions. They have daily parades and dance performances in the traditional head dress. It is a great place to take your family while visiting because there is something to do for everyone.

9. Korean War Memorial

If, you are a war veteran or a war history buff you may want to also check out the local history museum and war memorial. It is a bit limited to the English speaker, but they do provide translators and tour guides who will translate for you if you ask them. It covers wars all the way back to the 1600s and is very interesting how things took place back then.

10. Everland

This is a very interesting location I just actually stumbled upon in Seoul it is a modern theme park. If, you are bringing your family it is a wonderful place to see and experience in theme parks. It is a lot different than going to six flags in America. It has a unique Asian twist to it and is fun for the entire family. It does get quite crowded on weekends, so if you go try to during the week so you can experience the whole park and zoo.
