Troubleshooting Windows 7 Freezing Issues
Windows 7 is a great operating system that has many wonderful new features that increase fun and productivity. But, some people have been reporting that it is randomly freezing and not responding at times. This can be a combination of different issues that all play together to cause this issue. So, to help you try and resolve the issue of windows 7 freezing I have some tips that you can do to prevent that from happening.
A lot of freezing issues for windows are rooted into the directory structure of the machine. What happens in the registry over time is that the keys that contain the structure become obsolete, corrupted, or removed for many different programs.
The registry corruption can come from many different sources. One is just uninstalling a program can still leave a mountain of residual keys that are obsolete in the registry. Many programs are not able to fully clean themselves out after you request to uninstall them.
The other major cause of registry corruption is the presence of a virus or spyware. Many viruses or spyware will actually go in and redirect certain keys in your registry to perform a certain function. So when you click a program that you want to come up and the computer freezes it is because it cannot understand that redirection. This is where most people start to experience freezing within any windows machine. So, doing periodic maintenance on your computer on a monthly basis is a great way to prevent this from happening.
